Warrior Fitness Course
Our Warrior course features 5 structures which promote gross-motor skills such as running, jumping, and climbing, as well as enhancing coordination, endurance and cardiovascular health.
Mega Tower
Located in the center of the playground is the incredible Mega Tower. This piece can accommodate up to 120 students at once! Students are engaged in activities such as climbing, crawling, and sliding. This structure is nearly 60' wide (longer than a tractor-trailer!) and serves as the heart of the new play area.
Musical Instruments
Musical instruments are planned, which enhance learning through incorporating auditory stimulation, as well as tactile and fine motor development. Our bongos, chimes, and rainbow-colored sambas allow students to create their own music or use the all-weather sheet music to play familiar tunes.
Swings
Our playground features several types of swings. Traditional swings are planned as well as two adaptive seating swings, which allow for all students to enjoy this experience. Additionally, our playground features a new piece known as the Accelerator Swing. This accommodates up to 7 children at once, encouraging students to share the experience with each other. Research shows this type is even more popular than single-rider swings.
Sensory Panels
Sensory panels are popular among all students, but especially so for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), sensory processing challenges, and students experiencing visual impairment. These colorful panels feature textured surfaces which provide tactile experiences. Our playground is proud to include these pieces to enhance the play experience for all learners.
Buddy Rocker
The Buddy Rocker allows students to experience riding together. Four children face each other, which promotes interaction and development of interpersonal and social skills.
Soft Play Area
Located close to the rear of the building, in the top left of the picture, the soft play area features a built-in hillside for gross-motor development, as well as all-weather, soft "gum drops" on which students can hop, jump, climb, and sit. (These items are not pictured here due to software limitations; however, they are included in the master plan). This location is perfect for students who would like to take time to rest, reflect, and recharge.
